1944 ~ 2012

Peacefully, on January 29, 2012, Eileen G. Thompson passed away at Pinawa Hospital, with family by her side.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Yvonne Smith, and her in-laws, Sid and Jean Thompson.

Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of almost 45 years, Sid, and her daughter Julie, as well as family and friends.

Eileen will be forever remembered by her family who will always cherish their many years together, especially those days camping at the Big Whiteshell, Lee River, and lastly the Winnipeg River.  She was very happy during her retirement years on Westview Drive.

Eileen loved to read, including the Winnipeg Free Press (usually twice each day to get all the news), magazines like Reader’s Digest and Our Canada, to novels ranging from political thrillers to modern romance to crime/mystery.

Special thanks to Pinawa Hospital staff, Rhonda Voth, R.N., for their compassionate care and support during Eileen’s last days.  Your care helped to ease the family’s minds.  Thanks as well to Dr. Richard Van Gend and Dr. Mitch Bruneau, for their care and support.

Cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, February 4th at 1:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East in Beausejour, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eileen’s name to the Lac du Bonnet Library, P.O. Box 216, Lac du Bonnet, MB  R0E 1A0.  Charitable receipts will be issued.

Sid and Julie –
Wish I was able to be there to share with you. My thoughts and prayers are with you now all the way from Boston.

Losing a loved one is never easy and it takes some time for our hearts to mend. I’ve found joy in remembering the special times I’ve had with those I’ve loved and lost. May you find that joy when remembering Eileen!

With Love and Light –
Cindy
