Evelyn Omichinski

March 28, 1917 — March 28, 2015

1917 ~ 2015

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2015 at the age of 98 years, at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour.

Evelyn (Mom) leaves to cherish her memory her children: Ethel Hanus, Bob (Linda) Omichinski, Clifford (Anne) Omichinski and daughters-in-law Marlene and Florence Omichinski; her grandchildren: Allen, Janel, Kyle, Matthew, Candice, and Ryan with their respective spouses; and 8 great grandchildren.

Mom was born on November 1, 1917, and grew up in Ladywood, Manitoba, along with her siblings Stanley, Adam and Albert Reich.  She and our late father, Victor settled near all their siblings on their own family farm, and started a family.  Mom was a wonderful homemaker and worked hard while raising five children with our father.

Mom was predeceased by our Dad Victor, her sons Gary and David, and son-in-law Tom Hanus, as well as her three brothers.  She is survived by four sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Upon the untimely passing of our Dad, Mom with our youngest brother, moved to Beausejour, where she took employment with the Beausejour School Board.  She was highly regarded there for her diligent work ethic, until her retirement.  Mom`s greatest joy was time spent with family, and we all looked forward to her Sunday dinners.  We are grateful for the love and kindness she shared with us, and have all benefited from having her in our lives.  Mom will forever be in our hearts.

As per mom`s wishes, a private family service will be held.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nick Banrensburg, and specially thank the staff at East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home for the wonderful care given to our mom these past three years.

HOME AT LAST

We are all God`s children

From the morning hour of birth

He lets us live and laugh and love

And have our day on Earth;

He guards us through the afternoon

Till sunset`s rays are cast

Then one by one, with gentle words

He calls us home at last.
