The Sobering Family of Funeral Directors

Douglas B. Sobering

Sobering Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, owned and operated by Doug and Marlene Sobering along with their son Steven, was founded in 1985 and continues to provide personal and professional services to people of all faiths.

The family worked hard to provide a practical, fully equipped and attractive wheel-chair accessible facility for the community and surrounding area. Sobering Funeral Chapel is licensed under Public Utilities Board of Manitoba and bonded for at-need services as well as pre-arrangements

The funeral home has gone through two expansions since opening: first doubling the capacity of the chapel to accomodate 450+ people and then in 1998, adding an on-site state-of-the-art crematorium.

Doug and Marlene are very proud of their professional staff, funeral director Shannon Drobot and office administrator Rhonda Friesen. Their part time staff consists of Ray Weber, Robert Gagawchuk, Art Otto, and Rene Crognali. On-call 24/7, calls are answered personally or by one of the staff in Beausejour.
