Condolence from James Bedford on May 9th, 2020 11:17 am

I began my teaching career at Nelson McIntyre Collegiate with Bonnie. I recall that she was an amazing teacher and dedicated colleague. In her math classes, it was a given that every student succeeded because Bonnie always brought out the best in them. As a colleague, Bonnie’s sense of humour and encouragement were always appreciated. She was a huge part of an amazing staff of teachers to work with. I will always feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from Bonnie, and all those on the Nelson Mac staff of the late 90’s. Thanks for your dedication Bonnie.

Mrs. Edkins (Bonnie) Was my high school math teacher and most importantly my absolute favourite teacher of all time. She was so strong loving and caring and a wonderful role model for young woman. She spent countless hours during lunchtime or after school helping me have a better understanding of algebra and geometry… And she always did it happily and graciously. Even after graduation she and I met for lunch to catch up. She was a very special person. I’m sorry to hear of her passing. I just happened to Google her name today as I was thinking about her. Condolences to the entire family. She will be missed.
