Bruce Wayne Andrews

February 10, 1950 ~ April 27, 2020

Suddenly on a gorgeous Spring day, Bruce Andrews who just turned 70, my Best Time Ever, joined his Mom and Dad, Alice and Forrest.

Left with memories are his wife, Ingrid, his doggie and cat Genie and Uggie, his other Mom Inge Bauer, his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Norma, his two sisters and brothers-in-law Donna and John and Debbie and Wayne, and his sister-in-law Souada, along with many nieces and nephews and great-nephews.

Also left with memories are countless friends and brothers from another Mother.

Everyone who’s lives Bruce touched will remember his laughter and selfless giving.

Bruce is the most interesting person I have ever known. He had so much history within – from turning down his draft pick offer to try out as a goalie for the Winnipeg Jets – to his stories about cars, motorcycles, family and friends – all of which I asked him to constantly repeat. His favorite and mine was the one involving Gilbert and Bill, and a package of cigarettes.

His knowledge about things was brilliant. He was a journeyman electrician by trade, and could also fix just about anything – whether it was electronics, mechanical, appliances, plumbing, wood working – the list goes on. He was planning to build yet another barbeque. Learning something new for him was his joy.

We worked on lots of projects together, and never with any screaming or yelling. I was his “Terry,” and we always joked with teasing and banter, and ended the day with a nice cold beer.

Our last day together, as all days before, was wonderful.

My beautiful man, there will never be anyone like you. I love you, my Sweetie-Pie. Have a cold one ready for me when I come. I miss you so much.

If people wish to make donations to any food bank or animal shelter of your choice, Bruce would have liked this. Cremation has occurred.  Private gatherings with family and friends will be held at some time in the future.

Hey Fonzie, you were one of a kind, (thank God) we had some amazing times together, all of them rocked with laughter and your homemade beer, you are probably working on a batch as you read this, I could tell a million stories about you but they would probably be censored and my spelling isn’t that great. Just want to say good bye to one of the nicest guys that walked the face of the Earth and am glad to have had him for a friend, you will be missed my friend, party on wherever you are, hope you have a cold one waiting for me. Cheers!!! Pat

Andy worked with Bruce for 20 years at AECL….both being electricians, they worked on many projects together. They became good friends but over the years, lives changed and there became a distance.
We are very sorry to hear of his passing, he was a great guy….deepest sympathy to you all.

Condolence from Marcy Hrysio on May 6th, 2020 8:25 pm

Very sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing- my Dad was Gilbert Hrysio and our cottage was pretty much next door to Bruce’s, so as kids and later adults, my sister Jody and I would see Bruce very often on the weekends and have very fond and funny memories of him. My Dad adored Bruce and both would often be joking around and telling stories as they were working on some yard project , Jody and I remember those times very well . Bruce was such a talented and creative man and had the best laugh. Dad and Bruce are now together and certainly telling some sort of story and laughing. Cheers to you both.

Marcy Hrysio and Jody Pikel

My deepest condolences to Bruce’s family & friends.
Bruce was a very kind, hard working man with a big heart, always there to lend a helping hand, no matter what the project.
As Gil would say—Heh Brucee, its time for a cool one.
May you both enjoy a cool one together.

Condolence from Bruce Radford on May 23rd, 2020 7:05 pm

Bruce was my best friend in Manitouwadge more than 50 years ago. I remember weekend boat trips, fishing, shooting and getting into trouble. I learned from Bruce how to get the best deals buying and selling things. We were the only two News Chronicle carriers in town and Bruce had the idea to charge an extra nickle for the weekend edition. He had a joy for life that was contagious. I expected then that we’d be lifelong friends. But I moved south, he moved west and we lost touch. It’s a shock to hear of his death. My condolences to his family.
