Condolences for the family of “Ewald (Ed) Kraus”

Condolence from Jim Morton on September 10th, 2018 2:04 pm

I will always remeber and admire Ed as a tough, stubborn and resourceful man. That made him a good fisherman, hunter, and man of simple practicality. If something broke, or wore out, he would find a way to fix it and carry on. His frown of discontent was easily replaced with a bolt of laughter, which made him a reasonable man. He was a kind man willing to share his knowledge and experience to any who sought it. He loved my Mother and my Mother loved him.
This is all that needs to be said by me, eldest son of Mother Pat, who was Ed’s faithful, honorable companion and very good wife these past several decades. We should all be so lucky to find love for each other as they shared with each other.
He deserves peace and contentment hereafter. So I vote and pray that he rest in peace for eternity, free from the sufferings of this mortal world. -jim morton

Ed often provided a warm welcome (along with coffee) for worshippers at his home church in Lac du Bonnet. Peace to Pat and family.

Condolence from Don Chadney on September 13th, 2018 4:18 pm

I met Ed over 25 years ago at St. Hubertus. He was very active in the club along with his wife Pat. He volunteered in many positions – in particular- as chair of shotgun for more than twenty years. He was an invaluable member of St. Hubertus for more than 45 years. He volunteered and attended club functions until he became ill.
Ed and I hunted deer together at his acerage for several years until he sold the property and moved to Lac Du Bonnet.
I remember Ed as a kind, fun-loving, energetic individual with a great voice who garnered a lot of attention on the dance floor.
I am sorry that I cannot attend Ed’s service because I am away in Ontario at present. I am glad that I was able to visit him at the hospital. I was very lucky to have Ed as my friend for many years. He will be greatly missed
My sincere condolences to Ed’s family.
