Thinking of the whole Austen McIvor family and so sorry to hear of your loss. A giant hole in many lives without Auntie Marj who was always there for us. Especially when we were losing our own mom at the Pinewa hospital in 2002. She was a huge support for us. And countless ‘family’ gatherings with the PURVES, Shore, Austen, McIvor families. Hosted by Marj. She is already missed.

Cathie, Larry, Joe, Staecie and family, I’m so sorry to hear about Marj passing. My best memory of her is in 2006, on a family wedding trip to Jamaica, she was my parasailing partner. That was so much fun with her, she was not scared at all, plus she was 71 at the time! She will be missed. My condolences to her whole family. ❤️ Ramona, Spencer Hadden

Our deepest sympathy on the death of your mother. We journeyed together and learned much from her. Marj was always a very out front person and full of spunk and had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humour. May you find comfort in knowing she lived life to the fullest.

Condolence from Karen Johnson on August 8th, 2020 5:44 pm

To Marj’s Family:

I didn’t know any of you but knew Marg first from her position in the Botany Dept. at the U. of Manitoba in the early 1970’s when I was a Postdoc there. Then lost tract of her until I moved out to the Lac du Bonnet area in 2001 where she appeared in the Agassiz Horticultural Society [now Agassiz Garden Club]- feisty as ever! We played bridge together several times and did gardening things together for a few years and then I again mostly lost touch until I ran into her at the Ironwood last January/February while visiting other friends there. She was the same cheerful and outgoing person I had remembered and I saw her there several times until the Covid 19 lockdown. She had an amazing collection of plants and flowers and hated aspen trees! Because they took too much sun. I’ll miss her, even from our occasional interactions.
