Ray & Ellen Lavoie

March 1, 1944 – July 21, 2026

Ray & Ellen were married on May 25, 1963. Although Ray came from Lac du Bonnet and Ellen from Powerview, they started out together living and working in Lac du Bonnet. They were part of the Lac du Bonnet community for several years before moving to Winnipeg to start Lavoie Brothers Backhoe Service with Ray's brother Alfred and his wife Helen.

They had very strong connections to both family and friends and never failed to lend a helping hand. They were a warm & loving couple who could always be counted on.

Tragically, in 1980 they lost their only son and are survived by their only daughter Darlene (Steve) Palamar as well as Ray & Ellen's siblings, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. They are sadly and greatly missed by all.

In addition to their son Derrick, they have both been predeceased by their parents, their siblings Roger & Eileen, Lucille, Noella, Alcide & Jerry.

As in life, Ray & Ellen will be laid to rest together on Saturday October 10, 2026. Funeral Mass will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church, Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. Interment to follow at the Lac du Bonnet Cemetery.

Darlene would like to thank all the caregivers of her Mom and Dad at Riverside Lions Manor, Riverview Health Center and Concordia Hospital for all the care and compassion they have extended to her Mom & Dad over the past few years.

Special thanks also to close nephew Dennis for the handcrafting of the amazing urn memorial tribute and niece Lorraine for the personalized finishing touches to their resting place and service as well as for all their valued help and contributions throughout. Thank you's are also extended to Sobering Funeral Chapel for their help and understanding during this very difficult time.

ELLEN LAVOIE

With her daughter by her side, on July 21, 2026, 64 days after the sad passing of her husband Raymond, Ellen peacefully left this world to join Ray and their son Derrick. Left to forever miss her family is their daughter and sister, Darlene (Steve)Palamar.

Ellen was also predeceased by her mother Della and stepfather Paul Fisher, Father Leo Gauthier, brothers Gerard (Jerry) and Alcide and sisters Lucille and Noella and many other family members and good friends that she made along the way.

Sadly, missing and surviving Ellen is her daughter Darlene (Steve) Palamar, brothers and sisters; Roger, Therese, Cecile (Morley), Dennis (Lynn), Aimie (Bernie) and Lena as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

As in life, Ellen and Ray will be laid to rest together.

Arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff at Riverside Lions Manor and Concordia Hospital for the support and care that Ellen and her family received while she was in their care.
