The morning of August 25, 2026, Glenn, aged 75, peacefully passed away at home, on the same farm, in Beausejour, MB, where he was born and raised.

Losing his father at age 15 shaped Glenn’s future of lifelong dedication and hard work. He spent part of the summer with cousins in Arvita, Quebec to take some pressure off before responsibility hit. To help support the family he took side jobs while still attending school. At age 19 he began work with Imperial Oil, helping to design the company's new facility in Alberta before declining a major promotion and relocation. Instead, he started a full time mixed farming operation; harvesting grains, raising cattle and eventually chickens.

In September 1975 he married Darlene. Together they built their family home on his original homestead, using blueprints designed by Glenn. This is where they raised their children and welcomed many others to their table for daily meals and laughter.

A very smart, skilled man who could figure out anything, Glenn did a bit of everything including; construction (building garages, homes, trusses, drywall, stucco...on stilts, plumbing, electrical, and ICF), welding, and even water witching. Over time, he took an avid interest in organic farming, pyramids, electromagnetic fields and the impact on overall health, learning as much as he could about the human body, and naturopathic remedies. The family had a highway stand selling corn for years, and Glenn was among a small group of locals who initially started a Farmer’s Market near the Chuck Wagon restaurant. Unfortunately, the idea was ahead of its time.

He served as a councillor for over 15 years completing 4 consecutive terms for the RM of Brokenhead, spent countless years troubleshooting issues and bartending at BRC Hall events. Glenn sold Christmas trees at Winnipeg locations, always having candy canes to pass out to the children. He took a lead in organizing Keilback family reunions from 1981-2016, assisted with his daughter’s ringette teams, and completed certification in Cranial Sacral therapy in hopes of helping his son better manage his disability. Glenn practiced more formally at a clinic in Selkirk for several years, did extensive contract work for the AB (and MB) governments as a flood assessor, and also worked as a bus driver for Sunrise School division.

Glenn always had a strong faith which evolved to him doing ministry work with weekly sermons, and officiating marriages. In 2016, Glenn took a trip to Israel, which was by far his biggest adventure and a life-long dream. He swam in the Dead Sea, took in all the sites, and this is where the bible really came alive for him.

An extremely open minded and generous man, Glenn loved people and made friends wherever he went. He loved learning and also sharing his knowledge, recruiting many hired hands, and taking in exchange students from various countries. Glenn was constantly joking and teasing, spending hours with family/friends enjoying stories and making memories together. He loved going to the lake, sleeping in the sunroom, keeping up with his grandchildren's sports and achievements, and bragging about them to anyone who would listen.

Glenn spent 5-6 years adjusting to life as a bachelor before finding a love he had been missing. He began dating and married Debbie in October 2021. Glenn moved to Anola, where they enjoyed time together in their cozy home. They created their own network of friends, attending church, various outings and frequent travel west. By this time Glenn was no longer actively farming, but could not let go of his chickens, and despite hired help he made almost daily trips to the farm.

Leaving to cherish his memory is his loving wife Debbie, his children Joanne (Jake) and Thomas (Danika), his three grandchildren Serena, Nathan, and Claire, his sister Merna, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Glenn was predeceased by his parents Edward and Sarah Keilback, brothers Calvin and Rodney, wife of 37 years Darlene (nee Buss), and his son Matthew.

A come and go viewing will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing one hour prior at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave., Beausejour, MB.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.

Special thanks to various medical professionals and home care staff, niece Kristal, family friend Ramona, and friend Lijo. Also, many thanks to everyone who reached out during the past months visiting with Glenn, cooking meals or offering support.
