Celebration of Life
SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM
Starts at 11:00 am (Central time)
Holly passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 27, 2026 with her family at her side after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by her father Harry, grandmothers Margaret and Alvina, papa Bill, father in-law Gerald, sister in-law Brenda and her uncle Kim, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Floyd of 41 years. As well, she leaves her children Kara (Jason), Sean, Chad (Staci). She is survived by her grandchildren: Kacey (Chasy), Kaytlynn (Tyler), Brielle, Asher, Reece and Harlyn as well as 2 great grandchildren, mother Donna and mother in-law Mardella, siblings Angel (Farrell), Bonnie, Robin, Michael (Shelly), Donna-Mae (Dean) and Penny. She will be especially missed by her uncle Terry (Elise), many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mom and dad, married for 41 years, knew each other since birth, their moms were best friends. Mom and dad always knew how to have a good time together, whether it was camping when younger, attending music festivals, friends on Friday at home, or doing house and yard work together around home. Often joined by Terry and Elise. Mom loved curling, whether watching it on tv during the winter, or participating in bonspiels with her loved ones, especially her sisters.
Mom started her school bus driving career in Winnipeg for River East School Division, driving there for 17 years. Once her and dad relocated to Balsam Bay, she picked up where she left off, driving school bus for Lord Selkirk School Division, right up until retirement this year. Getting her kids to and from school safely was something she was proud of, and often talked about how great her kids were and how much she enjoyed driving them, driving school bus was her passion.
Mom’s children and grandchildren were her happy place, she loved having us over for sleepovers, hearing about all our activities and cooking for us. She loved spoiling us however she could, taking us for golf cart rides to the park, and teaching us about all the treasures at yard sales.
Mom was diagnosed with cancer in February, 2025, she never stopped fighting until the end, in February 2026. She showed us what strength looks like. Mom you will be missed by many people whose lives you’ve touched. We’d like to say a special thank you to cancer care and ER staff at Selkirk Hospital for taking such special care of mom while she was there.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour.
