Robert Gordon Lanoway

April 3, 1943 — May 14, 2026

After a long struggle with illness, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Gordon Lanoway into the loving presence of Jesus with his family by his side on May 14, 2026. He is welcomed by his two daughters Robynne and Shannon into eternity. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Virginia, Daughters Sherry (Curtis,) Tracey (David); Son Reg (Shane); Son-in-law Ken; Grandsons Liam (Ania), Owain (Joycelyn), Landon and Dymetro; also Great Grandson Ronin. He was born April 3 ,1943 and grew up in Beausejour in the same yard he would later raise his own family and retire in. He took pride in farming and working the land with his wife and teaching his children what he knew. He taught them how to “get it done”. They grew up thinking there was nothing their Dad couldn’t do and accomplish.

During the years Robert enjoyed many trips with Virginia to places such as Hawaii, Alaska, Panama Canal, Bahamas, & Cuba. Always working hard to make a living farming, long distance trucking, operating Lanoway Construction, many jobs all over the province occupied the bulk of his years. He was driven, living on the edge challenging life in order to accomplish things beyond expectation. His drive was great, even until the end he was planning his next project. Robert was a man who would give anything to those around him, he helped anyone without a second thought. He was a great friend to many. He cherished his family, friends, pets and also his machinery, especially his cat dozers, the Fergusons and cabover freight liners. His quiet faith sustained him through the lows and highs of life and was a man of integrity, honesty and compassion to those around him. Dad always believed that the good Lord would provide and He always did somehow. Dad, take off your gloves and put them down, no more sweat and worry for you now. Your labor is done; your home now is heaven; no more worrying about the weather. Your legacy lives on through us.

Our deepest thanks to those who visited Robert in care and made his day brighter. Also, to Dr. Van Rensburg and staff at East Gate Lodge who cared for his needs so compassionately. We are so deeply grateful.
