With great sadness and in loving memory of Wayne (69) who passed away on July 18 at St. Boniface Hospital with his wife Yvonne, brother Ed and sister-in-law Diane by his side.

Wayne leaves to mourn his wife Yvonne, sister-in-law Bev, brothers Ed (Diane), and Allan (Doris), and his fur baby Shadow, nieces Lisa, Shauna, Meagan, Annette, and Cheryl, many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Also, his good pal Kevin (Colette) Lesosky, Uncles Harold Rach and auntie Emily Rach, many cousins and friends.

Wayne worked for Natural Resources in Lac du Bonnet as a mechanic for 42 years. Four years into his retirement, his health declined. In the last year and a half Yvonne was with him every step of the way.

In the winter his passion was going to the bush to cut firewood and having coffee breaks with his buddies. Most times more coffee breaks than wood cut.

His greatest enjoyment in the summer was going fishing at Turtle Lake and splitting his entire wood cut.

Wayne lived in Thalberg at his home all his life, a long side with his wife of 34 years. You would see him in his shop fixing anything he could. He took great pride in whatever he did, especially clearing snow but had to be in the house for Family Feud.

He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Nellie. In laws Tony and Eleanor Rachuk, brother Eugene (Fran), nephews Mark and Keith and many family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made a charity of one’s choice.
