It is with great sadness that I announce the sudden passing of Sharon Coote, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, on January 29th, 2021.  Mom was predeceased by her husband Jack Coote son Ian Coote, brothers Ian McDonald and Bob McDonald, and her parents Ken and Rawny McDonald.

Mom was born in Bissett Manitoba on August 5th, 1939. During her early childhood she and her family moved several times ultimately settling in Pine Falls, Manitoba. After graduating from Pine Falls Collegiate, Mom attended nursing school at St. Boniface School for Nurses and graduated in 1961. She loved being a nurse and worked many years at the Pine Falls Hospital.

While in Pine Falls, Mom met and married my Dad Jack Coote. During their 57 years together Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling, fishing, curling, golfing and spending time with family and friends. They took many vacations together and when Dad retired they would go down south for the winter. Mom enjoyed the warmer weather there and was always happy to have a freshly squeezed glass of orange juice from the tree just outside their trailer. One of Mom’s favorite vacations was her fishing trip to Great Bear Lake with Dad. Her trip to Alaska and trips with friends were some of her favorite stories to tell.

My Mom was a wonderful woman who was always there with a loving touch and a kind word. She enjoyed time with friends old and young and cherished the times spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her contagious laugh will live on in our memories. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Colleen (Garth) and grandchildren Jason, Ian and Sharon, her daughter in law Jeannette and grandson Danton, her great granddaughters Natalie, Maria, Sophia and Claira, and her sister in law Bernice.

Cremation has taken place and, due to covid restrictions, a small gathering will be held at a later date.  Donations may be made in her name to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
