In Memorial

May 15, 1949 – January 25, 2018

It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Valerie on January 25, 2018 at the age of 68.  Valerie will be sadly missed by her devoted husband Dave Payette, beloved Mother Jean Belluk, Brothers Gerald Hoffman and Ronald (Janice) Hoffman, loving Daughters Tammy Bruneau-Beaton and Connie Bruneau, precious grandchildren Alexcia and Braeden, Step-daughter Cassandra (Glenn) Borth and foster daughter Lindsay.  She will also be missed by many adoring aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, family, friends and colleagues.  Valerie was predeceased by her father Erwain Hoffman.

She touched the lives of so many people and she loved spending time with family and friends, creating special memories.  She was kind, loving, caring, and compassionate and the most beautiful person you could ever know.  She welcomed everyone with open arms and anyone whom she encountered felt nothing but care and love.

Valerie can best be described as nothing short of extraordinary.  She possessed an undeniable zest for life and loved unconditionally.  Valerie had a strong passion for gardening, fishing, and traveling with her family coupled with her love of animals, nature and the outdoors.  She was incredibly talented and creative, finding much joy in the simpler things in life like decorating, painting, arts and crafts and her renowned baking abilities.

The one thing that Valerie was best at was showing pure unconditional love.  This was especially seen with the unique touch she had with ‘her kids’ during her employment with Sunrise School Division as an EA and being a foster parent.  She had a way of making everyone feel loved and important.  She was special beyond words and she will forever be in our hearts.

Sincere gratitude extended to the many Dr’s, nurses, palliative health care professionals for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.  And a special thank you to Valerie’s immediate family for helping fulfill her final wishes of being at home in her final days.

A Celebration of Life honoring Valerie will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour on Friday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m.
