Alice Beatrice Chevrefils (nee Coss)

Alice / Memere to her grandchildren and great grandchildren passed from this life to the next on May 18, 2024.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Ronald (Annette), Corinne (Ron), Louise (Rick), Richard (Colleen) and Claire (Trevor) and her 16 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Albert, parents Clem and Aurore Coss, brothers Eugene and Leon and her sister Rita.

Alice was born on May 1, 1938 in Pine Falls, Manitoba.  She spent her early years in Broadlands until her family moved to the Chevrefils district where she met and married the love of her life, Bert Chevrefils. Alice and Bert raised their family in the Chevrefils district.  In 2015, they moved to the Winnipeg River Manor located in Powerview.  Her husband Bert passed away on June 11, 2019 after 63 years of marriage, and he has been patiently waiting for her to join him.

Alice loved spending time in her garden and tending to her flowers, but what she was most passionate about was her family.  She worked tirelessly to make her house into a home - a calm port in a storm for all her family even as they grew older and left home.  Mom would work for hours on end making sure the Christmas tree was decorated to perfection and even on the weekends which should have been her time to take a break and maybe sleep in, she would be up making breakfast and lunches for her children as they grew older and ventured out working part time jobs.

Alice (Mom) was a woman of GREAT faith and along with her abiding love of family, her faith in Jesus Christ and her commitment to His Church was paramount in her life.  In her later years she became a mighty prayer warrior for her family, friends and community and we would be remiss if we failed to mention her great devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary.

Your family and friends will miss you Mom / Memere, but we are also happy that you and Dad are reunited for all eternity with our Heavenly Father.  Well done good and faithful servant, enter into your rest.

A funeral service will be held at Notre Dame du Laus Catholic Church in Powerview-Pine Falls, Manitoba on Monday, May 27.  Prayers at 1:30 p.m. followed by Mass at 2:00 p.m.
