Amelia (Amy) Carter

March 31, 1934 — May 20, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our mom at the Pinawa Hospital on May 20, 2025

Amy was the youngest child born to Anton and Rosalie Paranich in Chipman, Alberta.

Mom graduated from Grade 12, went to Business College, and worked as a Stenographer before joining the RCAF as a Flight Control Operator. During one of her postings, she met Sidney Carter who became her life partner for 69 years until he passed in November 2023.

Mom and Dad moved across Canada numerous times with the RCAF/CAF. Upon Dad’s retirement from the CAF in 1979, they moved to Pinawa, MB where she was employed by Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. until her retirement in 1994.

Mom loved to travel, especially to casinos, she loved her gardens, and enjoyed bird watching. In 2002 they sold their house in Pinawa, and relocated to Park Manor in Lac Du Bonnet where she lived until recently.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. She was also predeceased by her husband Sidney, son Ronald in infancy, daughter Diana (Steven) Alexander, and Son in law Michael Niedbala.

Mom is survived by her daughter Dawn Niedbala of Lansdowne, ON, 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and her son David (Florence) of Pinawa, MB.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no service.

We, the family want to thank Home Care, Dr. Bruneau, and staff of the Pinawa Hospital for everything that you did for Mom.
