Arthur Meade

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved dad, papa, uncle and friend, Arthur Meade who passed away peacefully at the Lac du Bonnet PCH on November 18, 2025, at the age of 89 with family by his side.

Arthur is survived by his three children, Crystal (Larry), Grant (Michelle), and Billy (Sommer) and his five grandchildren Cole (Sara), Sydney (Mitchell), Noah (Emmaus), Logan, and Ridley (Nadia) and three great-grandchildren, Kaylum, Octavia & Elouise. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Agnes Meade and many nieces and nephews. He was pre- deceased by his wife of 62 years, Alice Meade (nee Clarke) and all of his siblings.

Arthur was born on March 10, 1936, in Manigotagan, MB being the last surviving sibling of eleven.

Dad married Mom on July 14, 1962, and in 1967 they settled in Lac du Bonnet to raise their family.

He was very active in men's and mixed curling as well as bowling well into his 80's.

Dad was a very hard worker having been a miner underground most of his career. His last job was a hoist man for the Redpath Mining Inc. contractor at the Underground Research Lab in Lac du Bonnet.

Dad and mom really enjoyed their cabin at Manigotagan during their summers and often had family visit there as well. Fishing, boating and picking blueberries were just some of the activities they so enjoyed together. He and a few of his siblings, nieces and nephews were all musically inclined which made for some awesome family get-togethers.

Papa & Granny's family were so important to them. They so loved having their grand & great grandchildren around them.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Lisa Kroeker, Dr Bruneau, the nurses, care workers and staff at the Lac du Bonnet PCH as well as the East Gate Lodge PCH for the great care that was given to him during his stays with them.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
