It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Clifford Brook on May 13, 2026, in Oakbank, at the age of 88.
Clifford leaves to mourn his passing, son Deryl (Liz), Terry (Jeannie), Krista (Ed), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and brother Raye (Rhonda).
He was predeceased by his parents Ken and Marcelle, sister Nora and granddaughter Brittany.
Cliff was born in Eriksdale, MB and grew up on a farm. In his teen years he moved to Winnipeg. Cliff met his future wife, Beverley, in Winnipeg through a mutual friend. He started work in 1960 for the Province of Manitoba as a Conservation Officer working his way up through the ranks eventually to become Superintendent of the Whiteshell Park.
He left that career to venture into an entrepreneurship in Rennie with John Bartley at Central Park Service. After several years he made the move to yet another career creating Brook Ventures where he built and renovated cottages and owned his own lumber yard.
He was a lifelong trapper with his own trapline in his beloved Whiteshell. He was an active member of the Whiteshell Trappers Association. He loved to share his knowledge and was proud to have had a hand in the building of the Whiteshell Trappers Museum.
Cliff was a very knowledgeable man who took pride in sharing and educating others. He enjoyed attending schools and doing fur presentations for the kids. He especially enjoyed taking anyone to his trapper’s cabin at Indian Lake.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Kin Place Personal Care Home for their care and compassion given to Cliff over the past several years.
