Craig Elliott Hanton passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2025, at the age of 68.
Born on August 1, 1956, Craig spent his entire life in Lac du Bonnet, a place he loved deeply and served with pride. He lived a life marked by kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Craig was a skilled mechanic from the age of 16, beginning his career at Minnewawa Esso, then continuing his work at Worona Brothers before proudly opening his own business—Lac du Bonnet Automotive Repair Service. He was later joined by his two sons, who continue to operate the business today. In addition to his work as a mechanic, Craig also served his community as a firefighter for 25 years, protecting others with courage and commitment.
Outside of work, Craig spent much of his time with his family, enjoying camping, fishing, and being an avid fan of NASCAR and the Winnipeg Jets. He was also very proud of his lake home, where he and his wife Donna would spend time after work on the dock, enjoying the peace and quiet. These moments brought him great joy, and he cherished the simple beauty of time spent in nature with loved ones.
Craig will be remembered for his warm heart, his steady presence, and the countless lives he touched with his gentle spirit.
Craig is preceded in death by his father Frank, his mother Joyce, his brother Lloyd, his sister Tracy, and his mother-in-law Marilyn.
He leaves behind his loving wife Donna, daughter Terralyn (Mike), sons Tim (Tori) and Peiter, and cherished grandchildren Miller and Ruby, as well as extended family and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at his home on Friday, August 1st, for all those who would like to remember him and share in the celebration of his life.
