Doris Lillian Whitesell (nee Bunn)

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, kookum, great-kookum, sister, aunt and friend, Doris Lillian Whitesell, who passed away with family at her side on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the age of 70.

She is predeceased by her husband Jerry Whitesell, her parents Roderick and Madeline Bunn, her step-son Jeremy, as well as her sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her children Marie (Kirby), Judie (Chris), Joey, Kathy (David) and Amanda; her grandchildren Laura, Alissa, Adam, Dawson, Denzel, Recheal, Devery, Braiden, Xzander, Jerry, Theo, Synaira, Kaylese, Hailey, Robert, Jersey, and Jalissnah; and her great-granchildren Rayden, Daralyn, Mia, Deglan, Tatum, Delilah, Alaric and Cameron. She is also survived by her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, friends and cousins.

Thank you to the staff at the Selkirk Hospital for all the care and compassion they showed towards our mother and family.

Doris loved being a mother and kookum. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her.

A Wake Service will be held at the family home at House 3 Dream Drive on Northshore, Sagkeeng First Nation from Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. to Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Christ Anglican Church, in Fort Alexander, Manitoba.
