Earl Arthur Christoff

We are saddened to announce the passing of Earl Christoff on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 87. Earl is survived by his wife Susan Karklin and his daughter Jodie Lynn Wiebe (Richard); his brother Gordon (Wendy), sisters June Scott, Fern Renard and Margaret Christoff as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Earl was predeceased by parents Leopold and Dorothy; parents-in-law Robert and Margit Karklin; brothers Lloyd, James, Raymond; sisters Ethel Harlow, Marie Johnson, and Florence Hutcheson. Earl was the 8th of 11 children.

Earl was born in Roblin, Manitoba and moved to Lac du Bonnet as a young man. Over the years he carved a homestead on a quarter section of land in the Newcombe area in the R.M. of Lac du Bonnet. Here he enjoyed his hobby farm, spent countless hours cutting wood for his wood stove and going on Kubota rides in the summer and horse drawn sleigh rides in the winter with his friends. Thankfully he did not witness the destruction of his little piece of paradise caused by the Wendigo fire.

Earl was employed by Tantalum Mining for over 30 years, first as a mechanic, then a truck driver and lastly as a concentrate handler at Molson where he was given the nickname ‘Mayor of Molson’. Earl loved all sports but particularly football being the proud owner of seasons tickets to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for over 30 years

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Cancer Care in Winnipeg, Pinawa and Selkirk as well as at the Beausejour Hospital. Your care and compassion will always be treasured.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lac du Bonnet Legion, 45 McArthur St. with interment to follow the luncheon in the Lettonia Cemetery.
