November 17, 1932 ~ January 25, 2018
Edward passed away peacefully at the Beausejour Hospital on January 25, 2018 at the age of 85.
He leaves Violet (nee Zolondek) his loving wife of 56 years, his daughters Debbie (Pam), Shelley (Kelly), and Alison (Ric), and granddaughters Stephanie, Stacey and Jordan. Ed is survived by two sisters, Jean Prowse and Joyce Corbett (Arley) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Mike, Emily, Kay, Joe, John, Stan and Ken. As part of a large family growing up on the farm, family life was important to Ed. This value was passed on to his children and grandchildren.
Ed retired from J.M. Schneider as an accountant in 1992. Ed enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the cottage at Hillside Beach for many years. He loved nature and took pride in his yard at the lake and garden at home and growing the biggest tomatoes around. Tending to his garden and flowers was a part of his daily routine. An avid Manitoba sports fan, he loved his Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers and rarely missed watching a game. We have many fond memories and family gatherings travelling to Phoenix, Las Vegas, Bermuda, Louisville and Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made Cancer Care Manitoba or St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Beausejour MB. A special thank you to Dr. Leylek at Cancer Care and the doctors and nurses at Beausejour Hospital for their care and kindness.
A private service for close friends and family will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 516 Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour MB.
