It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandma, sister, auntie and friend, Elizabeth "Betty" Recksiedler, on Saturday, May 4, 2024 in Winnipeg, MB. She was born on June 30, 1943, in Manigotagan to John and Lizzy Wood.

Betty is survived by her children Celia, Todd (Bernie), and Audy (Carol), her grandchildren Shane, Brett (Carly), Riley, Breann, Richelle (Brendan), and her great-granddaughter Autumn, also grandma to Natara, Puya, Aliyha, Sapphire and Rosie.  She will also be deeply missed by her siblings Howard, Millie, Bernice (Tom Clarke), Roland (Lorna), Larry (Lanette), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is now reunited with her husband Aldon (Rex) and stepson Bill. Betty's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her especially her children and grandchildren.

Mom was raised in Manigotagan where she met Rex and married in July of 1959.  They settled in Jackfish Lake and raised their family there.  Mom and Dad ran the local service station, Don's Shell, for many years and was actively involved in community. She cherished the memories she made with those around her. Betty found joy in various activities such as bingo, curling, dancing, playing cards, and listening to old-time music. Her presence brought comfort and happiness to all who knew her.  She loved visiting with and caring for family and friends.

A Celebration of Betty's Life will be held on Friday, May 10 at 1:00 P.M. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour.
