Evelyn Josephine Moneas

February 5, 1951 — May 30, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Evelyn passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health center at Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Evelyn was a strong, caring, and independent woman who lived her life with love, laughter, and kindness. She was known for her sense of humor, her warm spirit, and the deep love she had for her family.

She found joy in the simple things - laughing, joking, and spending time with family and her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, they were the light of her life. Family meant everything to her, and she made sure to remind her children often "Help each other, love each other, and never be against one another". These words will forever echo in our hearts. She was selfless and had a caring nurturing heart. Never worrying about herself but always helping others when they needed it.

Her independence and determination were a big part of who she was and they carried her through life's challenges with resilience and grace, especially after the heartbreaking loss of her husband, the love of her life, on January 4, 2021. Despite her grief she showed incredible strength. She was the heart of our family.

Evelyn is survived by her sons; Borden Moneyas, Vincent Moneyas (Sherry) and Justin Anderson (Fallon); her daughters; Cherie Moneyas and Michelle Moneyas (Derek); her 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.

Evelyn leaves to mourn her siblings; Marlene Ballantyne, Raymond Marsden, Caroline Marsden (Brian) Lorraine Marsden (Mike) and Myrtle Marsden, along with numerous nieces and nephews- too many to name, but all held dearly in her heart.

Predeceased by her Parents Daniel and Eva Marsden; her siblings; Mary Traverse, Lydia Beardy, Emery Marsden, Hebron Marsden, Gary Marsden, Warren Marsden, Murray Marsden and Alexander Marsden.

Evelyn held a special place in her heart for her Granddaughters Martina McMaster, Jazzy Kipling, Catherine Chartrand, Shayla Moneyas (her Dear), and Grandson Gage Traverse. Great- grandsons Jacob Trout and Andre Moneyas, Great- granddaughter (her boss) Jolene McMaster. Special Niece Karen Laquette (Larry), Sil, Pat Moneas (chap).

We would like to express our heartfelt Thank you to Riverview Health Center (Palliative unit), Hollow Water first nation Chief and Council, Our Hollow Water Family, and to all those who took their time to visit mom in her final days. Your love, presence, and support meant so much to her and to us.

She will be missed more than words can express, but her spirit will always be with us.
