In Loving Memory of George “Gordon” Drawson
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon, a retired courageous firefighter, devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gord grew up in Bird River and Pointe du Bois. He was the only son of George and Lucy Drawson (Kulikowski).
He was married to his beloved wife, Margaret (née Edworthy), for over 60 years, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter and adventure. Gord was a proud father to Greg (Krista), Gary (Alanna), and had four wonderful grandchildren and two energetic great-grandchildren.
Gordon proudly and courageously served the people of Winnipeg for 36 years as a member of the Winnipeg fire department. At the time of his retirement he had risen to the rank of District Chief.
An avid outdoors-man, Gord loved hunting, fishing, curling, skiing, and golfing, embracing the serenity and challenges of nature. He was a passionate sports fan cheering for the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers.
A seasoned traveler, he explored the world with curiosity and joy, bringing back stories and memories that he shared generously with family and friends. He was a proud member of the Lac du Bonnet Legion and spent many hours enjoying the comradery with fellow members.
A kind and generous man he was known for his positive outlook and unwavering spirit, Gord faced life’s challenges with grace and optimism right up to the end.
Rest in peace, Gord. Your legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of your family and all who knew you.
