Lawrence Daniel Lazarko

June 14, 1948 — July 6, 2025

Lawrence Daniel Lazarko passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025 at the Health Science Centre with family at his side.

He is predeceased by his parents Natalie and Bill and his brother David.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Irene (nee Urbanski). He is also survived by his sons Lawrence (Brigitte), Robert (Asila) and William. He also leaves his brother Jim (Karen), sister-in-law Christine and brother-in-law David (Paulette Urbanski), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was born in Portage la Prairie. He began teaching in 1969. He met his wife Irene while teaching in Beausejour and raised his three wonderful sons. His passion was teaching science. He enjoyed road trips, travelling and camping throughout Canada and the United States. In the 1990’s he developed a passion for shoe repair. This allowed him to express his creativity and demonstrate his resourcefulness. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. We will forever remember his generosity and kindness.

Many thanks to our dear friends Henry and Lorraine Kazina, André and Maria Vachon and Doris (the late Clarence) Koss for the years of friendship and support.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the CNIB or Salvation Army.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Ave., in Beausejour, MB. with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
