Marguerite Armande Lodge

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Marguerite Armande Lodge on July 9, 2025, at the Pinawa Hospital, at the age of 88. While we mourn her loss, we are incredibly grateful for the time we were able to share with her.

Marguerite is survived by her children, Elaine (Lionel) and Greg (Tannis); her grandchildren, Sean (Destiny), Christopher, Renée (Danny), Amanda (Kam), Brett, Tyson, Raquel (Matthew), and Wyatt; as well as six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Émile and her son Robert. Through even the toughest times, she remained a constant rock and a safe haven for the whole family.

Known affectionately to all as Mémère, Marguerite was a fun-loving, mischievous, and hardworking woman who always had a hug and a kiss ready for everyone. She had a remarkable way of making people feel special, with a one-of-a-kind, infectious personality that lit up every room she entered. Everyone who met her was touched by her warmth and charm.

She enjoyed playing cards and games with friends and family, was a great seamstress and crafter, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marguerite was an avid gardener who took great pride in her flowers and vegetables. You always knew when she was at a hockey game--cheering loudly with her bell for her favorite--players (son and grandkids--and of course, for the Winnipeg Jets.

No matter what we needed--whether it was a late-night ride home, a babysitter, or just someone to talk to--she was always there for us. She wasn’t just our mother or Mémère; she was our safe place, our biggest fan, and our constant source of love.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Pinawa Ironwood Gardens, where Mom received the best possible care.

As per Marguerite’s wishes, no funeral or formal gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be made to the Lac du Bonnet Community Garden, Box 722, Lac du Bonnet, MB R0E 1A0 or e-transfer to ldbcommunitygarden@gmail.com
