Marlene Omichinski (Nee Schmidtke)

March 28, 1942 — March 28, 2019

1942 ~ 2019

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marlene Omichinski after a courageous battle with lung cancer, on May 29, 2019.

She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings; Henry (Audrey) Schmidtke, Wilma (Rudy) Nikodem, Wilbert (Eva) Schmidtke; Joan (Gordon) Otto; her in laws: Ethel Hanus; Bob (Lynn) Omichinski; Florence Omichinski; Cliff (Anne) Omichinski, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband David in 2014, her parents and parents in-law, her sisters Elsie (Louis) Fiebelkorn; Gwendolyn (Karl) Fiebelkorn and sister in-law Vivian Schmidtke, and brothers in-law Tommy Hanus and Garry Omichinski.

Her passions were fishing, gardening, doing puzzles, and Find a Word.  She really enjoyed spending time at her cottage at Pinawa Bay.

Marlene was quiet but took everything in.  Her and David made perogies and cabbage rolls for years.

Flowers are gratefully declined, and donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre or Peace Lutheran Memorial Fund.

Funeral Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 350 Gilmore Avenue, Winnipeg on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in the Beausejour Town Cemetery.
