Marlene Joan Petersen

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marlene Petersen August 1,2025 in Pinawa Hospital.

She is survived by daughter Sharlene, son Kevin and daughter-in-law Jenny, grandsons Brett Lodge, Cole Petersen and Dustin Petersen, brother Dennis Lofstrom and sister-in-law Rosalie, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marlene was predeceased by husband Sheldon (1988) , son-in-law Robert Lodge , parents Julian and Jean (Jenny) Lofstrom, parents in-law Henry and Agnes Petersen, sister in-law Connie Boyer (Bill) , brothers in-law Sanford Petersen (Helen), Sidney Petersen (Joanne) and special dog Tasha.

Mom’s greatest gifts in life were grandsons Brett, Cole and Dustin. She was a constant in their daily lives. Nana/Nanny was their biggest supporter, cheerleader, confidante and teacher; attending all school events, lessons, and of course sports . Each game or race Nana / Nanny was there and still was the support and love to each till the last days.

Mom later in life lost her mobility to Parkinson’s and was not active for her love of flowers, the beach, curling, games, bingo and could not sit or stand comfortable for most events, but she tried with determination.

The family would like to thank Ironwood staff in Pinawa for great care in her short stay, Pinawa Hospital doctors, nurses and staff for the support and care in the extended stay.

Mom, Nana/Nanny may you move now. Free of pain and stiffness surrounded by your Grand Dogs whom you loved. ❤️

As per her wishes cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service at her request.
