Myrna Geraldine Prokopetz

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mom and nanny on Monday, August 18,2025, at St. Boniface Hospital.

She was predeceased by her husband, Mike, in 2009; her son, Darryl, in 2015; as well as three sisters and one brother. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Shelley and Glenda (Wayne), along with her grandchildren: Christopher (Lisa), Michael, Cristina (Gaston), Kenneth, Jason (Candice), Everett (Lana), Trevor, and Trent (Kelsi). She is also cherished by her 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, as well as her eight sisters and two brothers.

Mom and Dad were married in 1957 and created a loving home in Bissett. In 1968, they moved to Lac du Bonnet, where Mom contributed to the community by working at the corner store, the Agassiz School Division, and cleaning many homes. During her time in Lac du Bonnet, she was an avid curler and enjoyed both watching and participating in the sport. The family later moved to Beausejour in 1989, where Mom found joy working at The Purple Onion.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the ICU staff, step-down unit, doctors, and numerous nurses at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care.

In accordance with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held. Her memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
