Renee Carmen Foubert August 15, 1973 – September 29, 2025
Our hearts are broken as we share the sudden passing of Renee on September 29, 2025, at the age of 52.
Those of us who loved Renee will remember her kindness first. She gave it freely — her time, her empathy, her warmth — no matter what was happening in her own life. She made space for those she loved, always checking in, always caring, always finding a way to make someone else feel seen.
Renee couldn’t help but always be genuine as there was not a fake bone in her body. She showed her love through humour and no matter how rough life got, she could always find the funny side. Her quick wit, contagious laugh, and knack for mischief and pranks stayed with her to the end. We will miss all the silly memes she sent continually (maybe sometimes a few too many!) as that was her way of saying she was thinking about us and to make us laugh.
Renee had a gift for connection. She made friends wherever she went, helped anyone who needed it (often before they asked), and found laughter even in chaos. She was creative, imaginative, and a born storyteller. She would almost always show up looking impeccable—makeup on point, hair done, dressed like she had somewhere fabulous to be, even if the day wasn’t going her way.
She leaves behind her beloved daughter Teagan, her father Randall (Marie), brothers Shaun and Travis, Uncle Ken (Lisa), Aunt Val, Aunt Alison (Bob) as well as many cousins, relatives, and friends including her closest confidantes Christine and Jeff. She was predeceased by her mother Judy, Aunts Adriane and Bernice, Uncles Ernie and Jerry, and both sets of grandparents.
Renee grew up in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba, where her lifelong love of the lake began and this would forever be her happy place. She then moved to Beausejour, where she earned her black belt in Tae Kwon Do—a badge of her determination and spirit that she carried throughout her life. She found joy in helping others, which led her to pursue a degree in psychology at the University of Manitoba and a career in social work. Her empathy and humour made her unforgettable to the people she helped.
But Renee’s greatest source of pride was her daughter Teagan—the light of her life. She never failed to share every and any of Teagan’s many accomplishments and would go on about how incredibly beautiful, smart, creative, musically gifted and just overall talented she is. Renee would beam about how well she is doing and how she is destined for great things.
We will miss you Renee and you will forever be in our hearts, never to be forgotten.
An informal celebration of Renee’s life will be held in the coming weeks in Lac du Bonnet. Please reach out if you wish to be included.
