Peacefully on July 1, 2024 our beloved husband, father, and grandfather took his last breath with his wife and daughter holding his hands. Ron fought his four year battle with lung cancer with all the strength and courage he possessed and is now reunited with his beloved parents in heaven.
Ron leaves behind the love of his life, his beloved wife and best friend of 50 years, Suzanne; his children he loved so much Theresa and Colin (Tracy); and his pride and joys, his grandchildren Jaidyn, Zoe, Maya, Evan and Reid. He will be missed by his BC family Kelly and Chad Scott and their son Nash who he loved like they were his own. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters Debbie (Karen) and Arlene, as well as his brother in law Rolly (Pam) and his sister in law Gisele.
Dad was a kind and loving man, always open to having a beer and a laugh with anyone. He had a passion for music of all kinds (except rap!) and was an excellent guitar player and singer, a passion he passed on to his kids. He was a dedicated fan of the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers, even after he and mom moved to BC in 1997, and we will forever hear him screaming at the TV in frustration.
Grumpy, as he was affectionately called by his grandkids due to his infamous “Papa frown” was most proud of his five special grandchildren. They will always have fond memories of him never saying no and participating in whatever they wanted him to, family vacations, and just time spent together and good conversations had with him.
Right up until the end, Dad still had that sparkle in his blue eyes and cracking jokes in his own special way. While our hearts are broken and our lives forever altered, we are blessed to have been loved fully and unconditionally by him always.
