Ronald Terence (Terry) Wardrop

Dec 31, 1942 — Aug 14, 2026

Ronald Terence (Terry) Wardrop passed away at home in Whitemouth, Manitoba, on August 14, 2026, at the age of 83. The eldest child of Olive and Les Wardrop, Terry was born on December 31, 1942, in Kingston, Ontario. Terry grew up in Winnipeg and attended Kelvin High School before moving to Whitemouth to complete Grade 12. It was there that he met Sheilagh Molloy, who would become his wife. Following high school, Terry worked in several roles before relocating to British Columbia, where he began working at Crown Zellerbach's lumber mill in New Westminster. Terry and Sheilagh were married on June 30, 1964, in New Westminster. Following a transfer to Calgary in 1968, they returned to the family farm in Whitemouth in 1973. Terry worked in a variety of roles throughout his career before retiring from Dueck's Mechanical Inc. after eight years in the mid-2000s.

Terry enjoyed golfing and hockey, as well as bridge and a spirited game of cribbage. He was a past president of the Whitemouth Recreation Association and helped raise funds for the construction of the curling rink and, later, the Community Centre.

Terry was extremely proud of the Wardrop family's roots in Whitemouth and often remarked that "everything leads back to Whitemouth."

He is survived by his wife, Sheilagh; sons James (Kari) and Robert; daughter Brenna (Ryan); grandchildren Isabella, Kira, Ian, and Swayze; brother Jeff (Janice); sister Cynthia Malazdrewicz (Larry); and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Terry will be cremated and laid to rest in the Whitemouth Cemetery at a private interment ceremony. A celebration of Terry's life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Terry's name.
