Rose Ostryzniuk

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, auntie, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rose was predeceased by her mother and father (Metro and Annie), husband (Paul), sister Mary and brother Mike and daughter (Judy).

Rose leaves behind son Ken (Dianna), daughter Diane (Emile) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose was born in St. Clements and was the eldest of three children. As a child, Rose loved spending time with her grandfather, venturing out on the farm and going on outings. At the young age of thirteen she moved to Winnipeg to work in a tea house with her auntie's. 

In 1947 she moved back to Poplerfield where she met and married her husband Paul and began a new journey. They moved to Rorketon MB where they owned and operated a movie theatre. A few years later they moved to Elkhorn MB where they owned and operated a hotel. In 1957 the family moved to Beausejour. One day Rose went to the local Beausejour CO-OP where she was asked to watch the store by the owner, who was in need of help. The owner of the store asked Rose to come back the next day to work a few hours. This is where Rose started her long career at the Beausejour CO-OP. Rose wore many hats at the CO-OP; working the till, grocery and meat department. However, Rose's “passion” was the produce department where she worked till her retirement. Rose worked for 53 yrs, finally retiring at the age of 85 yrs.

Her retirement was spent gardening, going for drives, visiting family, playing the vlt and bingo. She loved her community and was well respected by everyone who knew her.

We would like to thank the East Gate staff for their compassionate care. Special thanks to all of Rose's friends who took the time to take her out and visit.

At the request by Rose, a private burial service will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rose can be made to a charity of your choice.
