It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Surround by family, Sandra passed away peacefully on January 16th at the age of 67 after a brief battle with cancer.
She leaves behind her loving daughter Laura (Chris) and son Mark; grandsons Zachary and Theoren; brothers Richard (Donna) and Archie (Sandy) and sister Anna (Ron); sister-in-law Joyce and brother-in-law Don (Janet); numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, a great-great niece; aunts, uncles and cousins. Sandra also leaves behind her beloved dog Bailey.
Sandra is predeceased by her husband Jim, parents John and Elsie Marynewich, in-laws Micheal and Jean Rogocki, sister-in-law Pat Marynewich and brother-in-law Bob Jackson.
Sandra was born on December 19th, 1958, in Beausejour, Manitoba. She was the youngest of three children, growing up on the family farm with her two older brothers. From a young age, she worked alongside her dad, learning to farm and helping with the care and raising of a variety of animals. Her love of the farm would later carry forward into her married life as she took on a bigger role of raising cattle.
In 1976, she met the love of her life, Jim, and they married on August 12, 1978. Sandra and Jim began their life living in Beausejour while they built the house that they would later raise a family in. Following the birth of their children, Sandra chose to remain at home, devoting herself to their care and upbringing. During this time, she also found enjoyment and success as a Tupperware sales representative, earning numerous awards for her achievements.
Sandra later returned to work, and in 1997 she purchased Chuck’s Barber Shop in the town of Beausejour. Through her work there, she enjoyed getting to know her customers and became a familiar and welcoming presence in the community. She operated the business with dedication for 28 years, until she was required to step away due to her health.
Outside of her work, Sandra treasured time with her family and enjoyed creating lasting memories together. She especially loved spending time at the cabin in Lac du Bonnet, where she found peace and relaxation, and she had a love of travel that she enjoyed with her late husband. Although she did not get to visit all the places she hoped, she cherished the many memories made with family and friends along the journeys she did take.
During the years her children were growing up, Sandra also shared her time and talents with her community. She played a significant role in the local figure skating community, serving as president of the skating club and assisting with the development of young skaters. A skilled seamstress, she created clothing for her family, including skating costumes and bridesmaid dresses for family weddings.
Sandra’s greatest joy was her grandsons. She cherished every moment spent with them and was always ready to support their interests, particularly their involvement in hockey. She attended countless games, practices, and tournaments, often travelling out of town to ensure she could be there for them. No task was too large or too small when it came to her grandsons, and she consistently offered her help, guidance, and encouragement throughout their lives.
Sandra’s legacy will live on in the love she shared with her family, the care and guidance she gave to her grandchildren, and the support and kindness she offered to everyone around her. She will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and warmth, and for the gentle, welcoming smile that could light up any room. Her smile, and the comfort it brought to so many, will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A prayer service will be held on Friday, January 30th, 2026 at 7:00 pm at Sobering Funeral Chapel. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Beausejour Hospital TV fund in her name.
