In Loving Memory of Stephen Evecsyn

We remember and celebrate Stephen Evecsyn, who brought love, laughter, and cherished memories to all those fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on forever in our hearts.

Stephen was born on November 2, 1958, in Beausejour, Manitoba, and passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026, at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his son, Dereck, and leaves behind his loving wife, Gisele; his daughter, Erin (Adam); and his grandsons, Darieus (Dereck) and Connor (Erin).

One of Stephen’s proudest accomplishments was earning his Red Seal certification as a steamfitter. He went on to become a certified steamfitting instructor at Red River College Polytechnic, where he shared his knowledge and experience with others. He was also a proud member of UA Local 254.

Stephen was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping, and just about anything that brought him outside. He also shared a deep love of sports with his family. A skilled athlete in his younger years, Stephen continued to enjoy sports throughout his life, especially watching games with his loved ones. He never missed an opportunity to cheer on his nieces and nephews as they took part in countless games, always showing his support and taking pride in their accomplishments.

Stephen was a hardworking man with a wonderful sense of humour and a heart bigger than words could ever describe. He left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him through his laughter, kindness, and generosity. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel & Crematorium in Beausejour, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society in Stephen’s memory.
