Peacefully after a brief hospitalization, Tillie went to be with her Lord. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Art (2003); daughter, Florence Ruth (2014); son-in-law, Gary (2020); sister, Elsa; and brothers, Paul, Ed, Fred, Herb, and Bill.
Left to celebrate her life are her daughter, Donna (Bert) Ottenson; grandsons Dylan, Garett (Nikki Allard), and Jordan Adamchuk, and Nick, Chris (Wendy), and Nathan (Pam Muench) Ottenson; and great-grandchildren, Amelia Ottenson, and Wesley and Hayden Adamchuk. She is also survived by her sister, Alma Rondeau; sisters-in-law, Joan, Roberta, and Audrey Litke and Doreen Drewlo and many nieces and nephews.
Tillie immigrated from Poland in 1929, growing up in Beausejour, MB, where she married Art before relocating to Fort Garry (Winnipeg) in 1967. She and Art quickly became active members of their neighbourhood community and their church community at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Tillie always kept busy with gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, learning new skills and maintaining contact with her large family and many friends. A woman of deep Christian faith, she expressed her love through acts of service and will be remembered for her compassion, empathy and generosity. Shortly before passing, she wished to share that she loved everyone she had "rubbed shoulders with." Family meant everything to Tillie, and she was so grateful to have been a big part of their lives.
Flowers are most gratefully declined. In lieu, we request donations to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Box 968, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0, St. Marks Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 600 Cambridge Street, Winnipeg, MB R3M 3G9 or a charity of your choice.
