Vernon Edward Woof

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vern Woof, with his loving partner Kim by his side after a short battle with cancer. Vern was known for his strong will, quick wit, and the way he always showed up for the people he cared about. He worked hard his whole life and never hesitated to lend a hand when someone needed it.

Some of Vern’s favourite times were spent in the Northwest Territories, where he truly felt in his element. He loved fishing, hunting, and being out on the water. Nature was his peace, especially if there was a walleye at the end of his line (and a good story to go with it).

He is survived by his daughters, Caitlin Woof (Brett Hutchinson) and Tamara Woof, and by Kim Knopf, his partner and devoted companion. Vern will be remembered for his deep laugh, an even deeper love for the outdoors, and for showing us what it means to be both tough and caring at the same time.

We hope the fishing’s good, the bugs are few, and the boat never leaks. You will be loved, missed, and forever in our hearts.

In keeping with Vern’s wishes, he has been cremated, and no formal service will be held.
