Wendy Trites

Wendy Trites May 30, 1958 – November 24, 2025

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wendy Trites peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, November 24.

Wendy was a bright light that warmed anyone who met her.

In the water is where she felt most free.

She particularly loved all things by the sea and spent much of her time with her feet in the sand and sun on her face. It wasn’t unusual for her to suddenly book a trip somewhere - following that pull to where she felt the most herself.

Often having conversations like:

“When are you leaving?

“Tomorrow!”

“Are you packed?”

“Nope!”

Those close to her know she was often confused for a mermaid.

She raised a beautiful family including four children and devoted her life to being a mother. Wendy always ensured the magic of childhood was kept alive, celebrating every holiday thoroughly bringing joy and magic to her household. There were always delicious treats in the oven and an incredible smell in the kitchen when she was around.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Bruneau and the Cancer Care team in Pinawa for their exceptional and compassionate care, and to the Palliative Care team in Beausejour for their dedicated support.

Wendy will be missed by all. There is no funeral planned and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In honor of Wendy’s memory, her family invites you to share photos and stories that capture the moments she made meaningful using the comment section below.
