On Saturday, September 27, 2014 Arlene left this world for the next.

She was predeceased by her first husband Henry Schnellert her brother Richard and grandson Joseph. She will be mourned by her husband Alfred, children Karen (Don), Clara (Greg), Amanda (Randall), Earl (Kim), stepchildren Mark, Marlene (Rob), Dave (Judy), and her grandchildren, Andrea (Chris), Anthony (Jamie), Brenda (Greg), Jordan (Ximena), Raelene (Bryan), Alexis (Michael), William, Ryan (Kate), Breanne, Danielle, Sam (Christina), and Robyn. Arlene married Henry Schnellert in October of 1951 and they farmed in Glenmoor until moving to Pinawa in 1965, where she worked at the Post Office and volunteered with the church. They retired to Beausejour in 1986. They shared 37 years of marriage, working, raising their family, and enjoying spending time with extended family and friends. After Dad died Mom continued volunteering with the church and in the community. In 1994 she married Alfred Otto and they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in February. As Mom’s health failed Alfred was her devoted caregiver, cook and chauffeur as well as loving husband. Arlene lived a full life in her 82 years with all of the laughter and challenges that life brought her way. Mom enjoyed spending time with her family, being part of the Community Hall cooking group, being part of the Ladies group at Zion, and traveling with her sisters and their husbands early in her retirement.

A funeral service will be held on October 2, 2014 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue, Beausejour, MB; viewing at 12:00 noon, service at 1:00 p.m. Thank you to all the home care workers who took care of Mom over the past several years. If friends so desire donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Beausejour Memorial Fund.
