It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Clara Avison, aged 92, on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at East Gate Lodge, Beausejour.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Joseph and parents Anna (Loeb) and Heinrich. She was also predeceased by five brothers, six sisters and one infant son.
Left to cherish Mom’s memory are her two children, son James and daughter Norma Wittmeier (Wayne), her grandchildren Brian Wittmeier (Tara) and Jennifer Wittmeier (Shane Ward) and great grandchildren Kyle and Brandon Wittmeier. She is also survived by two sisters in-law Myrtle Bargery and Mildred Zielke as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Clara was born on November 19, 1918 and raised in Lydiatt, MB. She was married to Joseph Avison on June 12, 1954. They lived in St. Ouens where they farmed and began their family. Joseph passed away in 1968 and Clara remained on the farm with her children. In 2001 she moved to Beausejour. Mom took great pride in her garden and plants. She also enjoyed caring for her pets.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Stony Plains and East Gate Lodge (Rose Unit) for all their kindness and support. It is greatly appreciated.
Cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at a later date.
