Darlene “Dee Dee” Cyr (nee Pichor)

November 28, 1943 – September 14, 2022

Peacefully at Sunnywood Manor, with her family by her side, Darlene passed away.

Our wife, mother, grandmother and sister is survived by her daughter Kim (Neil), and her one and only granddaughter Chelsea Rae; she called her Chel.  She is also survived by two brothers, Ted (Cheryl) Pichor and Max (Kathy) Pichor, sisters in-law Cathy Danyluk and Shirley Cyr, brother in-law Ken (Sharon) Cyr, sister-in-law Irene Kemball and close friend Judy Leroy, as well as many nieces, nephews and godchildren, too many to mention.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernie, daughter Sharol and brother Eddie.

Mom married the love of her life at 18.  They had 53 years together and did everything together until Dad’s passing. She worked at The Bay/Northern Store for many years until her retirement.  She was known as the “Bologna Wrapper” and was proud of it.  She was a strong, vocal lady with a heart of gold. She loved to cook and have people over for wine and socializing; it’s 5 o’clock somewhere.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Cemetery, Broadlands.

Our heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your Mother/Grandmother & my Aunty. We’ll always treasure our memories of ski-doo trips & fun times at 10 Poplar. As an Aunty she always supported my girls growing up by attending their recitals & extra-curricular activities. She will be missed dearly. Rip Aunty DeeDee & give Ernie & Dad a Kiss for me ❤️

Sincere Condolences Kim and family ❤️I am so sorry to hear this news, great memories of your mother. She was a very loving lady and sure knew how to make people feel welcome in the family home. I have great fond childhood memories along with my adult years. Dar never spared us girls growing up, she was like a second mother to us all. She was always supportive and protective of you and the rest of the regular crew at 10 poplar street. We always could get a good laugh and great snacks or meal. She truly was a beautiful soul
    RIP Dar ❤️
