It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of our dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Dorothy Steinke, aged 93 years, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

She was predeceased by her husband, Fred, her parents, Gottfried (Fred) and Olga Singbeil, her brother and sister-in-law, George and Elaine Singbeil, her sister-in-law, Eleanor Singbeil, her granddaughter Jennifer Smith, and her precious son Clifford, whom she deeply mourned to the end.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Roydon (Liz), Leslie (Alice), Dianne (Steve) Smith, Harvey (Kim), Randy (Karen), Jim (Heidi), and Tom (Tracy); grandchildren Johann (Meaghan), Paul (Heidi), Laura (Shane), Kate (Tyson), Ted (Shannon), David (Trevor), Jason (Bethany), Brenda (Brent), Kristen, Kendall (Kyle), Reid (Stephanie), Aaron (Kim), Joshua (Sarah), Mark (Katie), Carly and Hannah; great-grandchchildren Arthur, Lindsay, Piper, Charlotte, Allison, Julie, Ian, Maddon, Xander, Nathan, Evan, Jonathan, Gavin, Maddox, Kayden and Addison; her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Audrey Singbeil and sister-in-law, Freida Steinke; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a warm, loving and generous woman; always putting the needs of her family and friends above all else. She enjoyed family gatherings, preparing big meals and good old-fashioned visits; especially during the holidays.  She was also blessed to join in the fellowship at Zion Lutheran Church her entire adult life.

The family wishes to thank Clarence Steiner for his companionship these last several years; the hard-working, kind and courteous staff at Stony Plains and the caring, diligent staff at Beausejour Health Centre, especially Dr. Partyka and Dr. Schmidt.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Zion Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 968, Beausejour, MB   R0E 0C0 in her memory would be appreciated.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, with Past Bart Coleman officiating; interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery and lastly, a festive lunch will be served at the Beausejour Hall in the Beausejour Room.  Please join us as we celebrate Dorothy’s blessed life.
