Florence Wilcott

March 28, 1916 — March 28, 2012

1916 ~ 2012

Peacefully, at 96 years of age, Mom passed away at the Sunnywood Manor Personal Care Home on Thursday, November 22, 2012.

Mom was born October 3, 1916 at home in St. George, MB.  She attended school at École Allard and grew up along the Winnipeg River with her six siblings.

She met and married William Wilcott on August 17, 1937.  Together they had seven children, two sons and five daughters, which rapidly grew into 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

After William passed on December 26, 1984, Mom moved into the Chateau Guay where she stayed for 10 years.  At the age of 78, Mom made her final move into the Sunnywood Manor Personal Care Home, where she came to be known as Grandma to everyone.

Mom will be lovingly remembered by her son Robert Wilcott (Felicia), her daughters Irene Fountain (Mark) and Hermaine Lussier (Robert), her sister Della Fisher, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

Mom was predeceased by her husband William, daughters Doris Hladki, Jeanne Popoden, and Henrietta Osterman, son Archie Wilcott and great grandson Dustin.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt Thank You to all the staff at Sunnywood Manor Personal Care Home for all the dignity and respect shown to Mom. A very special Thank You to granddaughter Susan for all her extra time, care and compassion.

A Celebration of Her Life was held on Monday, November 26.  Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of the Resurrection at St. Georges Roman Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunnywood Manor Personal Care Home in honor of our Mom.

You are at peace now Mom.
Fly with the Angels.
Love you always & forever.
