June 17, 1928 ~ July 10, 2020
It is with great sadness that we had to say goodbye to our Uncle George on Friday, July 10, 2020 at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour.
Uncle George was born on the farm in the Golden Bay area on June 17, 1928 to Fred and Molly Krebs. Uncle George went to school and worked on the family farm in Golden Bay for many years until he married his lovely wife Ruth in 1951 and they moved to their own farm. While farming they also lived part time in Winnipeg where he worked for Perth’s/Quinton’s as a supervisor for one of the departments. When he retired, he enjoyed driving his tractor working the land. He loved to travel with his little family throughout Canada and the US.
After struggling with Alzheimer’s, he moved to East Gate Lodge in Beausejour.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth and his beautiful daughter Georgina in 2019. Also predeceased by his parents, Fred and Molly Krebs; his sisters, Violet, Olga, Ruth, Margaret, Wanda and Doreen; his youngest brother, Ron; and some nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his brother Gordon; brother-in-law Bob and many nieces and nephews.
Uncle George loved having his family come to visit and we will remember his gentle, kindness and laughter because he always had some great stories to tell us, about us growing up and his farm work.
We would like to thank the staff from the Rose and Shamrock Unit at East Gate Lodge for all the kindness and care they gave Uncle George. A special thank you to Ross for all his visits. He will be missed by a lot of us especially, Derrick, Beatrice, Loretta and Bev. We love you Uncle but we know you’re in heaven with Aunt Ruth and Georgina, Blackie and Laddie.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Uncle George’s life will be held at a later date.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made to the Beausejour Veterinary Hospital, Box 368, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0 to help the animals and East Gate Lodge, Recreation Department, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.Print This Obituary & Condolences
