Glenn William John Wiley

March 28, 1956 — March 28, 2013

1956 ~ 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn Wiley on September 22, 2013 at the age of 57 after a lengthy illness.

Glenn was predeceased by his father Clarence in 1964 and his mother Eileen in 2008.  He leaves to remember him: brother Bradley (Tina), nephews Shea and Aaron; sister Betty Swain (Clare); nieces Andrea (Jeff) Cottes and Sherry (Lorne) Pelletier; great-nieces Tressa Pelletier and Ayla Cottes; great-nephews Tobia Pelletier and Archer Cottes.  His last pet MoJo will be lost without him.  He will be also remembered by his aunts and uncles along with many cousins in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

Glenn was born in Brandon, MB on August 24, 1956, the youngest son of Clare and Eileen Wiley.  In 1957 the family moved to Lockport.  Here Glenn started school in Gonor.  After Clare died in 1964, the young family moved back to Brandon.  Glenn went to Neelin High School and then to Assiniboine Community College where he completed a diploma in Architectural Drafting.  His career took many paths but eventually he found his true calling.  He worked in and managed many restaurants mainly in Brandon, but also in Boissevain and Beausejour.  Finally his health forced him to retire.  In order to lead a quieter life he moved to Oak River, MB.  His final move was to Beausejour to be closer to family.

Glenn always made friends easily and will be remembered by them.

The family would like to thank Dr. Askarifar and the team at the Beausejour Hospital, the ambulance attendants and the R.C.M.P. who have been very supportive.  We are truly grateful to his home care team members and handi-van drivers who made his life much easier the past few months.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Contributions in Glenn’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation at Suite 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
