Peacefully, on February 26, 2021, Henry passed away with his wife Audrey by his side, while she sang “God be with you till we meet again”.  He was 92 years old.

He was predeceased by his parents, Reinhold and Lydia; his son Kenneth; siblings, Elsie (Louis); Gwendolyn (Karl); Marlene (David); sister-in-law Vivian and brother-in-law Rudy.

Henry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Audrey (nee Schmidt); children, Dolores (Jim) and Barry (Bonnie); grandchildren, Brandon (Christa) , Tana (Noel) and great-granddaughter, Blake.  He is survived by siblings, Wilma, Wilbert (Eva) and Joan (Gordon); goddaughter, Geraldine; sisters-in-law Bernice and Doreen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Henry was born in Friedensfeld and at the age of 10, the family moved to Lowland in the R.M. of Brokenhead.  He met the love of his life, Audrey in Steinbach at a wedding in 1958 and proposed that same year on Christmas Day. They married on June 20, 1959. Together they mixed farmed and Henry worked on various construction jobs.  They sold the farm in Lowland and moved to Beausejour in 1992. Henry enjoyed old time dances with Mom, he loved taking the grandkids to Fairs and teaching them how to play checkers, card games (Hola).  Henry will be remembered for his love of sweets, TV, naps and visiting people.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11:00 am with a private interment to follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lowland.  Those wishing to attend may do so by parking in the Sobering Funeral Chapel parking lot and tuning their radio to 98.1 FM and following COVID-19 Restrictions by remaining in their vehicle.
