Jay Hay

July 3, 1983 — February 1, 2023

July 3, 1983 ~ February 1, 2023

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, son, brother and uncle, Jason Thomas Hay on February 1, 2023, at the age of 39.  He is pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents Karl and Gwendolyn Fiebelkorn and paternal grandparents Bob and Gladys Hay and special Aunt Donna Chopp and Uncle Howard Wilkins. Left to mourn his passing are his much beloved daughters Kayley and Kierra, parents Tom and Carol Hay, sister Christy (Neal) Smith, nephews Grayson and Emmett Smith, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jason was born in Beausejour, MB on July 3, 1983 and our lives were never quiet again.  As a youngster he busied himself playing hockey, baseball and riding his bike.  Once Jay got a little older, he was lured by the intoxicating smell of snowmobile exhaust, speed and the thrill of snowmobiling and was hooked.  Snowmobiling became a life long passion and during the winter he could be found on the trails, at the CPTC track, watching races on TV and for a time, testing his ability as a snow cross racer; but it had to be Polaris. He was hard worker, doing blue collar work that was dirty and came with long hours in addition to being away from home for days or weeks at a time.  His greatest joy and biggest blessings called him Daddy.  Kaley and Kierra are the apples of their Daddy’s eye and were fiercely loved; he would do anything just to see them smile.

A special thank you to the Beausejour EMS and RCMP for their assistance and compassion.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kayley and Kierra Hay and Grayson and Emmett Smith. As a family member is immunocompromised, masks are requested and we respectfully ask that if you are feeling ill to please stay home and offer your condolences in another manner.

In lieu of flowers an account has been set up at the RBC, Beausejour Branch and donations can be e-transferred directly to Jayhaykids@outlook.com for Kayley and Kierra’s future fund.
