Julia (Boisvert) Brown

March 28, 1914 — March 28, 2011

1914 ~ 2011

Julia Edna Brown passed away at the age of 97 on October 22, 2011 with her family by her side.

Mom is survived by her daughters: Rita Stammen, Patricia Baxter, Irene Hnatiuk, Dolores (John) Rose and Valerie (Larry) Ranseth; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by our Dad, Henri Joseph Boisvert in 1983; two daughters Leona Steer and Elizabeth Lesperance; Son-in-laws Harold Hnatiuk and Scotty Cain; her 3 Brothers, Wes, Bill and Jim and 5 Sisters Sadie, Mary, Margaret, Gladys and Jean.

It is with great sadness that our sister Rita’s husband, Jerome Stammen, passed away two days following the death of Mom.   To help our families all gather together arrangements have been made for the funeral services to be held November 3rd for Jerome and November 4th for Mom.  It is times like this that show the strength we gather from the support of family.

Mom and Dad were married in 1935 in Laurier, moving to Kenora in 1954 where she worked at the Lake of the Woods Hospital in the Housekeeping Department.  Mom was a hard worker and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, her flower garden, playing cards with friends, and most of all the family get-togethers.  Our parents retired to Ochre River in 1973.

Mom was remarried in 1993 to John Lester Brown and they lived in Brandon, Manitoba.  Mom and John enjoyed camping, meat draws at the Legion and spending winters in Apache Junction, Arizona.  They later moved to the Courts of St. James in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  John passed away in 2007.

Mom has touched all our lives, each in special ways.  We will miss her and cherish our memories.

Our family would like to thank East Gate Lodge, Shamrock and Rose Units, for their excellent care.  The compassion of the Doctor, Nurses and Support Staff shown to both Mom and our family will not be forgotten.  In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please send a donation to East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home, Box 1690, Beausejour, Manitoba  R0E 0C0.

Funeral Service were held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 4th, at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E. Beausejour.  Interment took place Saturday, November 5th at the Riverside Cemetery, Dauphin, Manitoba at 1:00 pm.
