Leonard Young

1928-2012

Leonard Young passed away peacefully at the age of 83 at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour, Manitoba on Sunday, January 22, 2012

He is predeceased by; his parents, John and Mary, brothers Bill (Irene), sisters; Carrie (Charles), Dorothy (Mike), Helen (Joe), Loretta (Wally), Marion (Rudy) and Leona.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Irma. Son Allan (Alice) and faithful four-legged companion Daisy.

He is survived by Brother Harold (Inez), Sister Edna (Harold) and Brother-in-Law Chuck.  He is also survived by Sisters-in-Law Alma (Ron) and Leona (Robert) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A quiet man, Len loved to work out of doors either in his garden, flower beds or creating wonderful wood projects.  A kind and giving man, he loved to share his garden’s bounty and especially loved being a “grandpa” to the neighbourhood children. He began working cutting pulp and farming and then continued for many years as a carpenter working on many houses in the Beausejour area.  He retired from the Town of Beausejour, where as a town employee he took pride in the upkeep of the town.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, January 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour.

In lieu of flowers donations are kindly accepted to East Gate Lodge or to the Beausejour and District Hospital.

A special thank you to the staff of East Gate Lodge for all their care and compassion in caring for dad.  You are truly angels.
